Let's Be Honest About........Turning Point 2021

Since I decided to take a sabbatical from WWE till maybe the Royal Rumble, I made a move and spent $9.99 for Turning Point. This is my second Pay-Per-View from the Impact! brand after the B.S. finish in the main event of BFG.

THE FIRST MATCH WAS NOT BAD

Jordynne Grace and Chelsea Green are two of the hardest working female competitors in the industry, and both ladies worked their asses off to set the tone for the beginning of this PPV. Grace picks up the victory to retain her Digital Media Championship or whatever it is called.

The event was again held at Sam's Town Live. Impact! needs to be in bigger venues to help this company. The crowd was lively once again.

D'Lo Brown and Matt Striker are doing the commentary, which means no Josh Matthews again. Can't you tell I'm not a fan of his?

THE OPENING MATCH WAS VERY COMPETITIVE

Ace Austin is 24. Chris Sabin is 39. A typical veteran vs. rising star contest. Sabin can still go. Also, why does Ace Austin have to bring someone with him? He has a good gimmick. Sabin pulls out a stunning victory.

VBD VS. HEATH/RHYNO

Good. The heels get revenge from BFG and score the victory. See that, wrestling companies. You can continue a feud and make it solid.

Eddie Edwards does an interview and sounds really scripted. I'm disappointed because I'm a fan of Eddie Edwards.

VGK VS. RICH SWANN

Okay, here's a nitpick. It seems as very wrestler needs to do have someone on the outside come to the ring with them. I don't understand that. Also, VGK's guy looks like Jeff Jarrett with tattoos. This match really didn't get off the ground with Swann getting the pin.

W. MORRISSEY VS. MATT CARDONA

I'll give Matt Cardona credit. The guy is building a brand and working throughout the Indies to get experience. Reading the chats, apparently, Morrissey's contract is running out. Impact! should re-sign him. Moose interferes to spear Cardona with the referee down. Morrissey gets the win. Also, D'Lo is very comfortable yelling "DAMN YOU, MOOSE!".

IINSPIRATION VS. DECAY

A lot of screaming in this match. The crowd seemed silent for this. Also, are the Iinspiration the face or heel in this match? Rosemary took a wicked bump due to a power bomb to the mat. The Iinspiration win by using heel tactics. Okay, they are the heels.

Chris Sabin does an interview that was pointless. I'm also a fan of Chris Sabin.

TRIPLE THREAT X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Ugh, another triple threat for the X-Division Championship. I get that they want to feature their X-Division, but like this? Easily the match of the night so far. And that ended with a Dusty finish. Trey Miguel retains.

MICKIE JAMES VS. MERCEDES MARTINEZ

Mickie James looks like she's happier that she escaped WWE.....with a trash bag full of her belongings. (Bleeping) pitiful. Martinez also looks happy to escape WWE. Impact! has the best women's division in pro wrestling. HANDS DOWN! James retains with a terrible DDT. Deonna Purrazzo attacks James after the match. She wants her rematch at Hard To Kill.

Scott D'Amore cuts an interview, which is the best of the night.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

During the video package, the Bullet Club grabbed the Tag Team Titles and dangled them near their.....unmentionables. Doc Gallows did the same thing during the entrance. That's not very PG. Oh, wait, this isn't WWE. Also, the ring announcer, who is David Penzer, nice, said the Good Brothers are from Japan. I'm pretty sure Karl Anderson is from Cincinnati. The match ended with the Good Brothers cheating.....AGAIN! Why do you do this to yourselves, Impact!

The announcers promote an event for Louisville, KY. Good! They are out of Sam's Town Live for once and it's sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon? And I wonder if Jim Cornette will appear at the show since its in Louisville.

Josh Alexander cuts a promo and the crowd finally wakes up. Jonah aka Bronson Reed attacks Alexander and destroys him. The announcers call him the hottest free agent on the market. Thanks a lot, WWE. He's no Braun Strowman, but it's a start.

Matt Striker is trying his best to hype this crowd up. Please don't bring back Josh Matthews.

IMPACT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

I said earlier, I am a fan of Eddie Edwards. I enjoyed him with Davey Richards as the Wolves and he once finished a match with a broken leg, but never seemed him as World Championship material to me. Also, forget Lesnar vs. Lashley, I want Moose vs. Lashley! Also, Impact! is #trending number 6 on social media. Edwards powerbombed Moose from the top of a ladder onto another ladder wedged between the ropes and the standing ladder. Then, Morrissey interferes.....why? Moose spears and goes for a pin, then Matt Cardona pulls the ref out and fights Morrissey outside of the ring. Edwards pulls out scissors and cuts the bungee cord holding the canvas to the ring, exposing the wood underneath. Moose rockbottoms Edwards onto the exposed wood and spears him to retain the title. Also, Moose has the best spear in the business. This match was better than I thought.

Turning Point 2021 was again.........a solid show. If there were complaints, there are some spotty ones. They stuffed a ten match card into a show. The ninth match started right after the two-hour mark, meaning most matches were rushed and didn't tell a story due to time restrictions. Also, the show started at 8pm Arizona time, while ending about 10:30. For a wrestling show, that's too late. And lastly, Sam's Town Live is a small venue, where you can hear the wrestlers without a hitch.

The two matches of the night were the X-Division Championship bout and the main event. Moose and Eddie Edwards took each other to the limit to put on a great contest, and it worked. The two matches that drained the crowd's interest were the tag team matches. Guess Impact! fans are not big on tag team bouts.

So, there you have it. The second Impact! PPV that I witnessed was worth the money at $9.99.
