This has become a yearly tradition for yours truly, writing an article about the Dallas Cowboys and their misfortunes. However, it is also a yearly tradition to point out these misfortunes. Why do have to make it a tradition of this?

As you probably heard by now, Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys have "mutually parted ways" as Mike has become the top free agent head coach around now that Mike Vrabel is headed to New England. This is coming after the Cowboys didn't allow the Chicago Bears permission to talk with McCarthy. This also comes when Dallas decided to bench Cooper Rush for the season finale, making him miss out on a $500K incentive. These gaffes have people wondering if changes need to be made.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jerry Jones has stated that he will not step down as general manager of the team anytime soon. This is startling news for Cowboys fans since the franchise hasn't seen the conference championship or the Super Bowl in almost 30 years. Throughout that time, Dallas has been a roller coaster of emotions for their fans as they play this game of one year being successful and other year being below expectations. It has caused fans of the team to become unhinged. That is not the way that a fanbase should go through. Having contract negotiations stalled for a coach who wasn't allowed to talk to another team and forgetting about a player's incentive kicking in isn't something that an actual GM would forget. Take a mental note of that, Cowboys fans.

So, with the criticism, you would think Jerrah would listen to reason and give what people wanted and explain to him what the problems are. Well, oh Jerrah doesn't want to hear it. He thinks he as general manager gives them the best chance to win. He scolds the media interviewing him and belittles radio talk show hosts to oblivion about how he handles the football operations. He is your basic sports billionaire owner, it's everybody else's fault, not mine. He also has his EVP take questions about how the football operations and the team's performance on the field. That EVP happens to be his son, Stephen. Of course, Stephen Jones isn't going to say that his father is doing a bad job as a general manager, but you have to realize that the franchise isn't where you want it to be.

Yes, I realize that Mr. Jones has made some excellent draft picks as Dak Prescott, Deedee Lamb, Demarcus Lawrence, Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons. Despite the number of successful players that have worn the Blue Star, it has not generated any playoff success for them. Here's a stat that will blow your mind, how many playoff wins have the Cowboys had after their last Super Bowl victory in 1996? You want to know, you really want to know?

FIVE!

That's right, five playoff wins since 1996. Twenty-nine years with only five playoff wins. Is that success to you? You can draft a boatload of talent who on paper could take you to the promised land, yet in real life, that promised land isn't even close.

Sure, you are reading this and saying, "Well, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the most profitable franchises in North America. He is at least doing something right." When Jerry Jones purchased the Cowboys in 1989, he had a vision of propelling this franchise into the stratosphere. He knew that the value of the team will increase due to the popularity of "America's Team." When he bought the team, he shelled out $140 million. Now, the Dallas Cowboys are valued at $4 billion as of present day. This part is where Jerrah thrives, this is his bread and butter. He has his personal money bin known as AT&T Stadium. Jerrah has become one of the most influential owners in the sports world by his tactics and his ability to make the Cowboys a very wealthy man. He needs to stick with this full time.

When the announcement that McCarthy wasn't going to be retained, everyone was stirring up the rumor mill with a certain coach from Colorado possibly being a top candidate. Deion Sanders has given people hope as a head coach by turning around a Buffaloes program from a single win the year before he showed up at Boulder to a nine-win juggernaut with a Heisman Trophy winner (Travis Hunter) and a future first round pick at quarterback, who happens to be his son (Shedeur Sanders). It seems very crazy to think this, but Jerry might consider it. Deion is a former Cowboy and helped the franchise to a Super Bowl triumph in 1996. With many whispers of fans rebelling against the Cowboys, Ol' Jerrah will have to become desperate to get fans excited about their brand.

So, the truth is staring Cowboys fans in their faces, Jerry Jones is still hellbent to make everyone forget that Jimmy Johnson was revered for the two back-to-back Super Bowl championships as head coach and wants his praise on his franchise until he is no longer capable of doing it anymore.

With that, this will be the final scene of Cowboys fans at the end of their season for many years to come.
