CM Punk Needs To Leave AEW

I don't like going back to a subject until reports materialize, but I have to go back to this because this has been ongoing for a while.

We are coming up on a year since CM Punk decided to bury certain people, including the EVP's of the company in the now-infamous scrum after the All Out PPV, which led to a brawl in the locker room. Tony Khan suspended him in an attempt to send a message to Phil Brooks, not the character CM Punk. He wanted to give him a second chance to be on the program for the future of AEW. He allowed CM Punk to come back and hopefully, a fresh start will make this run fruitful.

Ever since CM Punk has returned, all you hear from the dirt sheets is that Punk has caused a division in the locker room, made talent go home because of his influence and backstage incidents within talent. Clearly, he hasn't learned his lesson and this will further paralyze morale for a company that is trying to break out of the pack.

I already discussed Tony Khan and how he needs to step up as the owner and hand down discipline to his talent when they need it. He has reportedly suspended Punk and Jack Perry for their roles in the NOW-infamous backstage incident at the biggest event in the company's history. Many fans want this to be swept under the rug, but unfortunately, it's the major talking point right now. The problem is that AEW should be talking about the success of All-In and the preview of the All-Out PPV. Instead, not a word about All-Out. It's about the incident backstage in London. Don't expect this to be swept under the rug any time soon.

Here's the bottom line: CM Punk and AEW have to part ways from each other. There is no other way to put it. You can suspend him and hope he can learn his lesson. That ship has sailed a long time ago, guys. No suspension could repair this relationship between Punk, Khan or AEW. It's a lost cause right now. AEW really doesn't need CM Punk to sell tickets, the roster can do that themselves. Punk can go to other ventures to line his pockets, Tony Khan can still make money and AEW can grow in masses. This should be a no-brainer for Khan. It's up to him to execute this painful decision.

Two years ago, CM Punk's return was supposed to signal a revival for a legend coming back to what made him famous. At present day, he may have wrestled his final match in AEW for being infamous.
