Dear Adam Silver, Commissioner of the NBA,
Let's be real, here. The All-Star Weekend is underwhelming. The announcers were being serious about the Skills challenge. The Slam Dunk competition was lame. Time to fix things up, Commish. Eliminate the Skills challenge, add ACTUAL dunkers to the Slam Dunk contest like the Canadian professional dunker with blue hair. Put him in. (Side note: I wonder if professional dunkers get good benefits). Move the Rising Stars game to Saturday. Make Friday all about the fans. Meet-and-greets, autograph sessions, watching great moments in NBA history and ending the day with a huge concert. The Saturday morning is dedicated for eating breakfast or lunch with an NBA legend. Want to have pancakes with Warriors and Kings legend Mitch Richmond and talk to him about his time with Run TMC? I sure would!
So, I just made All-Star Weekend from crappy to adequate. Trust me, you have the capital. Your ties with China are slowly getting better and you made extra coin with that stupid Play-In tournament. It could work. What do you have to lose?
Sincerely, A.J.
