Dear Adam Silver, Commissioner of the NBA
During your tenure, you have made some great strides since becoming commissioner in 2014, taking over for the late David Stern (God rest his soul). In fact, your first big move was to ban that racist slumlord Donald Sterling, which everyone applauded. You have tweaked how the NBA Draft Lottery is formatted and made the All-Star Game somewhat competitive. So far, everything should be peachy.
The NBA Play-in Tournament is lame. You are basically copying what the NCAA does. Let's have lower seeds compete in games for the chance to be massacred by the higher seeds. What? I know what you are saying "But A.J., there were competitive games with the Warriors. They lost both of them, but it should swell." It's not. Half of the games were blowouts and didn't bring intrigue to the postseason. You already have a tournament. It's called the PLAYOFFS. If you want a tourney so badly to coincide with the postseason, why not have one to determine who gets the #1 pick? It will eliminate tanking and franchises will have to play hard to achieve that goal. Easy peasy. It could be a bad idea, but it's something.
Think about it. I realize you will probably won't read this, but it's worth a shot.
