ONE. CHICAGO- CALEB WILLIAMS QB, USC
With Justin Fields gone, this is the obvious choice. After many years of pining for missing out on Patrick Mahomes, the Bears can rest easy with Williams under center.
2. WASHINGTON- JAYDEN DANIELS QB, LSU
The Commanders get a dual-threat playmaker with new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury as his tutor. New owner Josh Harris has his franchise quarterback for years to come. Please don't RGIII him.
3. NEW ENGLAND- DRAKE MAYE QB, NORTH CAROLINA
The Patriots will try again at getting a franchise quarterback, but hopefully they can have him learn under Jacoby Brissett. Maye has some flaws but could easily be fixed going forward.
4. ARIZONA- MARVIN HARRISON JR. WR, OHIO STATE
Junior possesses the route running and instincts as his father, the catching ability of Fitz and the breakaway speed as Justin Jefferson. Could help Kyler Murray bounce back from two subpar seasons.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
5. MINNESOTA- JJ MCCARTHY QB, MICHIGAN
The Vikings trade the two first-round picks to LAC to snag the Michigan signal-caller. He's a field general that can be the starter from day one.
6. NY GIANTS- MALIK NABERS WR, LSU
The Giants need help for Daniel Jones or Drew Lock to catch passes. Nabers is another great receiver from LSU who stretch the field and separate from defenders.
7. TENNESSEE- JOE ALT T, NOTRE DAME
The Titans finally found their replacement for Taylor Lewan and their anchor on the offensive line for many years to come.
8. ATLANTA- DALLAS TURNER EDGE, ALABAMA
New coach Raheem Morris preaches defense, defense and more defense. The Falcons need a better pass rush and Turner is that building block to start.
9. CHICAGO- JC LATHAM T, ALABAMA
Well, Chicago, you have your generational talent QB in tow, now you need to protect him unlike you did with Justin Fields. Latham will have Caleb's back.
10. NY JETS- BROCK BOWERS TE, GEORGIA
Their receiving core is good, but A-Rod needs a safety value and Bowers can stretch the field like a receiver. It's a win-win.
By the way, really digging those new uniforms.
11. LA CHARGERS- ROME ODUNZE WR, WASHINGTON
New coach Jim Harbaugh can start from scratch and get Justin Herbert a playmaker at the wideout position. Odunze has size and speed to be a home run threat.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
12. PHILADELPHIA- JARED VERSE EDGE, FLORIDA STATE
The Eagles have become desperate. They trade up to get an edge rusher to replace Brandon Graham and help Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis be free to roam.
13. LAS VEGAS- TALIESE FUAGA OT, OREGON STATE
With a bountiful crop of receivers and cornerbacks in this draft, the Raiders can afford to beef up their offensive line with the selection of Fuaga.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
14. LA RAMS- BYRON MURPHY II DT, TEXAS
The Rams trade up to get someone who can hopefully replace 111 sacks worth of Aaron Donald. If not, being solid is cool, too.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
15. ARIZONA- TERRION ARNOLD CB, ALABAMA
I realize that the cornerback position is loaded in this draft, but the Cards want the best damn prospect available which Arnold is.
16. SEATTLE- LAIATU LATU EDGE, UCLA
New coach Mike McDonald wants to mirror his defense as the Ravens. Latu is a player who can cause havoc and mayhem on the edge.
17. JACKSONVILLE- QUINYON MITCHELL CB, TOLEDO
The Jags' secondary has been lacking for the last few years and Mitchell brings an infusion of talent and great ball skills that is desperately needed.
18. CINCINNATI- BRIAN THOMAS JR. WR, LSU
The other LSU receiver who can fill the void if Tyler Boyd or Tee Higgins decide to exit stage left and helps Ja'marr Chase from getting double teamed.
19. NEW ORLEANS- CHOP ROBINSON EDGE, PENN STATE
The Saints need to address the fact that Cam Jordan isn't getting any younger, so they get the player with the best name in the first round.
20. PITTSBURGH- GRAHAM BARTON C, DUKE
Let's be real, the Steelers have struggled to replace Maurkice Pouncey. With this pick, they can at least develop Barton to be him.
21. MIAMI- TROY FAUTANU T, WASHINGTON
Dear Stephen Ross, get some protection so Tua doesn't get annihilated out there and then I won't call you that name. I'm sure you understand.
22. DENVER- BO NIX QB, OREGON
The Broncos trade down and still get their quarterback of the future and they get multiple picks since they're in dead cap money hell.
23. LA CHARGERS- JER'ZHAN NEWTON DT, ILLINOIS
Jim Harbaugh's secret to success is dominating the lines up front. Newton can plug up any opportunities an offense tries to create.
24. DALLAS- OLUMUYIWA FASHANU T, PENN STATE
Jerrah, look at your offensive line depth chart. Yeah, it looks no bueno. Now, Tyron Smith is gone, it's time to get a blindside tackle to protect Dakota.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
25. ATLANTA- DARIUS ROBINSON EDGE, MISSOURI
Remember when I said that the Falcons need a pass rush? They trade up with the Packers to add another piece to a young defense.
26. TAMPA BAY- COOPER DeJEAN CB, IOWA
Defensive line is an issue, but the cornerback position has Jamel Dean and others. DeJean could easily play the corner and safety positions in the NFL.
27. INDIANAPOLIS- KOOL-AID MCKINSTRY CB, ALABAMA
The Colts trade down and still get a player who can reenergize a secondary opposite of Kenny Moore.
28. BUFFALO- NATE WIGGINS CB, CLEMSON
Remember folks, Buffalo let go of most of their secondary during the off-season. Wiggins is a corner who has exceptional ball skills.
29. DETROIT- AMARIUS MIMS OT, GEORGIA
Not really a need pick, but he's a player who keeps the offense upright. Detroit hasn't had the luxury of selecting a need in the draft for a long time.
30. BALTIMORE- JUNIOR COLSTON LB, MICHIGAN
With Patrick Queen taking the green from a division rival, the Ravens pick a......Baltimore-type player in Colston.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
31. LA CHARGERS- TYLER GUYTON T, OKLAHOMA
Harbaugh needs a bruiser on the O-Line. You get that and then some with Guyton. Jim is laying the groundwork for a bright future.
32. KANSAS CITY- TREVIN WALLACE LB, KENTUCKY
Rashee Rice's off-the-field issues could hamper this selection. Either way, KC is known for finding gems towards the end of the first round.
Well, there you have it. I mean hey, that's why they call it a mock draft, right?
