BUFFALO BILLS
The process is a long and winding road. Somehow, the Bills will figure it out. It could be this year or next. Unfortunately, Josh Allen snagged the threaded Madden cover and there is a situation with Stefon Diggs. Whatever the case, Buffalo is the favorite for the Super Bowl, again.
MIAMI DOLPHINS
The Dolphins are on the rise and can compete with the top dogs of the conference. It seems that something is holding them back, (Whispering) It's the owner. The Jalen Ramsey trade could help, unfortunately, he will miss the beginning of the season. Miami is going to make some noise, for the right reasons.
Side note: Please don't try to get Tua killed this season.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
It's time to admit it, the Patriots are rebuilding. After two seasons, it was obvious. Hopefully, they can help Mac Jones and the rest of the offense. Bellichick might have his work cut out for him, but I think this team will be competitive throughout the season. Don't know if a playoff berth is in sight in 2023.
NEW YORK JETS
There has been a lot of optimism for the J-E-T-S. Sauce Gardner is becoming one of the best corners in the league. They are re-signing players (Quinnen Williams) and Robert Saleh is not on the hot seat. Something must have given the fanbase this optimism. Maybe trading for a multiple MVP winner and future Hall-of-Famer at quarterback can do that. Imagine the State Farm commercials for this upcoming season.
BALTIMORE RAVENS
Lamar Jackson is back, with a ton of money coming in. The Ravens are going to be that team who will give their opponents fits. Adding OBJ helps Lamar in the deep game. The defense can be one of the best in the league, if everything clicks. Key word is if.
CINCINNATI BENGALS
In two years, The Bengals have become the darling of the conference. Then, the bill came. Most of their secondary gone via free agency. They did get Orlando Brown to protect Joe Burrow. By the way, they are going to ante up the cash to extend Burrow, right?
CLEVELAND BROWNS
2020 seems like a pipe dream. The Browns are back to being mediocre and it's their own fault. Deshaun Watson was awful last season and hopefully can bounce back, along with the team's fortunes. They acquired Zadarius Smith to beef up their defense. I'll be praying for the fans in the Land.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
The Steel Crew has finally embraced the rebuilding process. Kenny Pickett, Najee Harris, George Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Broderick Jones are part of this on offense. The defense will have TJ Watt to carry them. It could be a mixed bag type of season for Pittsburgh.
HOUSTON TEXANS
The Texans made some bold moves this off-season. Hiring DeMeco Ryans as head coach and drafting CJ Stroud at #2 will give them a platform for something positive. They made an even bolder move by trading up to #3 and snagging Will Anderson. This could be the building block of a movement to get this franchise out of the funk they created themselves. 2023 is a start.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
On paper, The Colts have the most talented squad in football. However, this hasn't translated into wins on the field. Hopefully, they solved their quarterback issue with the selection of Anthony Richardson. Jonathan Taylor looks to have a bounce back 2023. Also, it's time to pay him. Are you paying attention, Jim Irsay?
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Something special is a-brewin' in Duval. It's okay, everyone, Trevor Lawrence is going to be fine. Their late season push last year seemed like a prelude of things to come. And also, Doug Pederson is a much better coach in the NFL than Urban Meyer. The Jags could be Super Bowl-caliber if that momentum from last season can continue into this season.
TENNESSEE TITANS
Tennessee is in a perplexing situation heading into 2023. Ryan Tannehill is the quarterback, for now. Derrick Henry is healthy, for now. They brought in D-Hop to help the receiving core. The defense is young and can stop the opponent when needed. However, everything needs to click for this squad to make the playoffs.
Also, they bought back the old Houston Oilers unis! Luv ya, Blue!
DENVER BRONCOS
Russell Wilson went in a tailspin last season, which caused the Broncos to toss the Wal-Mart money at Sean Payton. He has his work cut out for him as he will try to emulate the New Orleans-type offense here. Also, Sean has been vocal about the previous coaching staff. You sure you want to do that?
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
A dynasty is forming in K.C. The three ingredients to the Chiefs' success: GM Brett Veach, coach Andy Reid, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. You can insert players that fit a role and the Chiefs will still be successful, if the three ingredients are intact. This is how Kansas City has won two Super Bowls during this decade. This season, expect them to be Super Bowl bound.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Yep, Mark Davis thought it was cute to hire Josh McDaniels as coach. Derek Carr was unceremoniously let go. They traded tight end Darren Waller for....reasons? Davante may want a reunion with Aaron Rodgers in New York and they don't want to pay Josh Jacobs. Classic case of a new regime trying to fix something that isn't broken. Hopefully, they are competitive this season.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Last season ended with a thud. Fortunately, the Chargers seem like they are a playoff contender. They locked up Justin Herbert to an extension, which was smart. Hopefully, coach Brandon Staley can improve in that area this season. I think that they are capable of a long playoff run this season.
