2019 NBA MOCK DRAFT (A.J. SPECIAL)

The 2019 NBA Draft is weeks away and teams are scouting prospects to see which ones are future stars and which ones are gigantic busts.

1. PELICANS- Zion Williamson F, Duke

This is a no-brainer. The most ballyhooed prospect in years joins a Pelicans team, debating on keeping or trading Anthony Davis. Either way, Zion will be the future face of the franchise.

2. GRIZZLIES- Ja Morant G, Murray State

The Grizzlies begin their rebuild adding Morant to replace slatwart Mike Conley and pairing him with JJJ (Jaren Jackson Jr.), who had an outstanding rookie season. Now, all they need is a head coach.

3. KNICKS- R.J. Barrett F/G, Duke

The Knicks have room for two max contracts and some young talent, but the front office is a mess and free agents are tentative to go there. If they keep the pick, they will select Barrett.

4. LAKERS- Jarrett Culver G, Texas Tech

The Lakers have room for one max contract and some young talent, but the front office is a mess and free agents are tentative to go there. If they keep the pick, they will select Culver.

5. CAVALIERS- Cameron Reddish F, Duke

"But A.J., Cam Reddish underachieved at Duke". Yes, I know. "This is too high for him to be picked" Yes, but imagine a Collin Sexton/Reddish fast break. And Larry Nance Jr. isn't the answer at SF.

6. SUNS- Darius Garland G, Vanderbilt

The Suns need a PG. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Garland could develop into a nice piece alongside Booker and Ayton. I think this team should trade some of their overstocked small forwards to get some good role players to complement the roster. Or they won't.

7. BULLS- Coby White G, North Carolina

The Bulls seem like they are not sold on Kris Dunn at PG and are probably looking to move Zach LaVine. White is capable of playing both guard positions as the Bulls continue their rebuild.

8. HAWKS- DeAndre Hunter F, Virginia

The Hawks get a defensive forward to complement John Collins. He can play small forward and can hopefully develop a NBA jump shot to combine with his good defense.

9. WIZARDS- Romeo Langford F/G, Indiana

John Wall is out for the season. Bradley Beal could be moved. There is a hole at the small forward position. Langford can fill these holes due to his athletic ability and his sense of the game.

10. HAWKS- Bol Bol C, Oregon

The Hawks get their future center, who has a game that resembles Porzingis. The only problem is he is raw. He gets put in the right situation in Atlanta, where I don't think that they are going to go after the top free agents.

11. TIMBERWOLVES- Sekou Doumbouya F, Limoges

Let's be honest. Taj Gibson is getting older and Dario Saric has limited potential. Doumbouya is a project that can develop alongside KAT and Wiggins. The Wolves could be a darkhorse contender. Could.

12. HORNETS- Kevin Porter G, USC

Kemba's probably gone, so add Porter with future pieces in Malik Monk and Miles Bridges. The Hornets are a team that could be good, but they are always in the middle of the pack. MJ, BLOW IT UP ALREADY!

13. HEAT- Rui Hachimura F, Gonzaga

The Heat can now go down to business after D-Wade's "Last Dance". Adding Hachimura with Bam Adebayo and Justise Winslow gives the Heat a bright future, but if they can move those bad contracts out, that is another story.

14. CELTICS- Jaxson Hayes C, Texas

Give Danny Ainge credit. He fleeced teams to get multiple first round picks. Now in this draft, they add young talent to the frontcourt as Al Horford is entering his late 30s.

15. PISTONS- Nassir Little F/G, North Carolina

This team made the playoffs. Outstanding. I think it was Dwane Casey's coaching that did that. They need some players other than Blake and Andre. Little can develop here, because they need wing players. Badly.

16. MAGIC- Keldon Johnson G, Kentucky

IT HAPPENED! The Magic finally made the playoffs and stunned Toronto in the first game. Then we know what happened. Still a good season for the Magic as they add some youth in the backcourt.

17. HAWKS- Cameron Johnson F, North Carolina

The senior is going to the Hawks as he could be their role player of the future, since teams now think that college seniors entering the draft are considered....you know, old.

18. PACERS- Brandon Clarke F, Gonzaga

Victor Oladipo went down with a season ending injury. Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis are future stars in the frontcourt. Thad Young is probably leaving via free agency, so add another frontcourt prospect with this pick.

19. SPURS- P.J. Washington F, Kentucky

LaMarcus Aldridge is declining. You have future pieces in Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Jakob Poeltl and Lonnie Walker IV. Adding Washington can give the Spurs a player to develop under Aldridge.

20. CELTICS- Bruno Fernando C, Maryland

He's a raw player that the Celtics can afford to develop.

21. THUNDER- Nickeil Alexander-Walker G, Virginia Tech

The Thunder needs another wing and gets a good one with this pick.

22. CELTICS- Talen Horton-Tucker F/G, Iowa State

Okay, the Celtics do select a wing player with this pick.

23. JAZZ- Goga Bitadze F/C, Mega Bemax

Frontcourt project to help Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors.

24. 76ERS- Admiral Schofield F/G, Tennessee

Loved his game in college. Could help the Sixers if Jimmy Butler leaves.

25. TRAILBLAZERS- K.Z. Okpala F, Stanford

Portland needs forwards, so this fits here.

26. CAVALIERS- Tyler Herro G, Kentucky

Add another wing to help Sexton and Reddish.

27. NETS- Luguentz Dort G, Arizona State

Not a need pick, but they can develop him.

28. WARRIORS- Matisse Thybulle F/G, Washington

The Warriors can develop players, so what do I know.

29. SPURS- Louis King F, Oregon

Help if Rudy Gay leaves.

30. BUCKS- Nic Claxton C, Georgia

Bucks need frontcourt help since Brook Lopez and Nikola Mirotic are free agents.
