If Anthony Davis Gets Traded, Where Will He Go?

If you're Dell Demps, the General Manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, you had a weird year. You were blasted by former NBA Commissioner David Stern as he called you "a lousy general manager", your team is falling in the standings, your head coach Alvin Gentry could be out the door, and you are now facing the prospect of trading your franchise player, Anthony Davis. As it turns out, Davis' agent, Rich Paul stated that his client will not sign a contract extension and wants to be traded. Funny how the agent states that instead of the player. It will seem like the Pelicans should get a nice haul for Davis.

I will pick the 5 destinations that Anthony Davis will land, hopefully before the trade deadline. Some of these places are off the wall and Paul stated that Davis wants to be traded to a contender.

5. Phoenix Suns

Ok, before the readers of this blog will wonder if I'm high while doing this, hear me out on this one. The Suns'

franchise is a mess and they have two legit superstars in Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton, who need a third superstar to get them in the right direction. Davis seems to be that superstar who can easily elevate Booker and Ayton's game and be the player who can bring free agent

talent to the Valley of the Sun.

4. Chicago Bulls

Here comes the "high" comments again. The Bulls, like the Suns, are a train wreck. The coach was just fired. The players almost did a mutiny on his replacement, and Jabari Parker's homecoming has turned into a nightmare. If Davis has his own homecoming, it will be a clean slate for the Bulls. I realize that he wants to be traded to a contender, but he is a great player to where he could be the player who can bring talent to him. (As I said with the Suns)

3. Milwaukee/L.A. Clippers

I put these two together, because this is where a crossroad or teams going in different directions. Milwaukee has the Greek Freak and a bunch of good role players, but that hasn't helped the Bucks get over the top in the East. Adding Davis could do that and lessen the burden for Giannis. The Clippers are a tweener team with no superstars, but a good abundance of young talent and role players. Davis could be the franchise player here, especially if Tobias Harris leaves for greener pastures via free agency.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron wants it to happen. Magic has basically sold his soul for the return of Showtime. LaVar Ball is panicking. The NBA fans, unless you are living in L.A., are cringing at this. The NBA could probably could care less despite Adam Silver's constant reminders on no tanking, competition and parody. Also this will unleash the torment known as Laker fans. Do you really want that? Where will David Stern be so he could nix this one?

And the #1 destination if AD would be trad....it's the Celtics.

1. Boston Celtics

Every expert and executive know this. Hell, a newborn baby would tell you that the Celtics are the front-runner for AD. They have the picks and the young talent to ship to New Orleans to acquire Davis. The Celtics are also in a somewhat desperation mode, considering that they were the favorites in the East in the offseason and are playing below standards. A Davis trade could also be the icing on the cake for Kyrie Irving's potential long stay in Boston.

So there you have it, A top 5 player in Anthony Davis could be on the move, which will change the landscape of the NBA. Will that be a good thing or a bad thing?
