Hello Everyone,
Here is my picks 1-10
1. Cleveland Browns: RB S. Barkley Penn State- Cleveland has done a lot to improve this off season. Even though they signed Carlos Hyde to a contract, I don't know how you pass on the #1 prospect in the draft. Besides in Cleveland during the coldest part of the season, you can never have too many running backs.
2. N.Y. Giants: QB J. Rosen UCLA- The Giants seem to think that Eli Manning has a few years left in the tank. Picking Rosen gives them the most pro ready QB in the draft in case Eli starts to drop off even more then he has the past 2 years. This also starts a run on QB's.
3. N.Y. Jets: QB S. Darnold USC- The Jets get their QB of the future and possibly the present. Darnold has all the tools that you want in a QB, but had a bad tendency to turn the ball over at an alarming rate last year. So if given a year to sit behind J. McCown and T. Bridgewater for a year he should have the time to work on cutting down on the turnover issue.
4. Cleveland Browns: QB J. Allen Wyoming- The Browns get the QB they have coveted the whole time. Allen is the biggest bang/bust prospect of the draft, He looks like a cross between Big Ben and Carson Wentz. Has an incredibly strong arm and athleticism. His accuracy is somewhat of a concern and didn't perform well against the better competition last year.
5. Denver Broncos: QB B. Mayfield Oklahoma- Mayfield has to be the most scrutinized QB not named Lamar Jackson in the draft. He has great leadership and is highly accurate. Has some maturity issues, but I don't believe this will hinder him in the NFL. Seems to have a knack for the big throw.
6. Indianapolis Colts: G Q. Nelson Notre Dame- The Colts continue to build their offensive line for either Andrew Luck or Jacoby Brissett. Nelson is a can't miss prospect at guard and barring injury should be in many Pro Bowls in his career. I could see Indy possibly taking Chubb here also.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: S M. Fitzpatrick Alabama- The Buccaneers need help on defense. They get it here. The only question is whether he plays CB or safety. He has the ability to play both at a high level.
8. Chicago Bears: DE B. Chubb NC State- The Bears add some much needed pass rush to their defensive line. Chubb is better then Garrett and more complete. He should be a Pro Bowler for years to come.
9. San Francisco 49ers: CB J. Jackson Iowa- The 49ers get bookend corners this year with the signing of Richard Sherman and drafting Josh Jackson. He did not have a great performance at the combine but had a very successful year at Iowa with 8 interceptions.
10. Oakland Raiders: CB D. Ward Ohio State- The Raiders get a Ohio State CB tandem by drafting G. Conley last year and D. Ward this year hoping that they have the same success as Ohio State had with these two. D. Ward is a willing tackler and had a great combine.
