10 Quarterbacks that could be on the move next year

We are at the midway point of the season. So I figured why not take a look at 10 quarterback's that could be starting for new teams next year. I figure the Cardinals, Broncos, Colts, Browns, Jets, Bills, Vikings, and Redskins could all be looking for new starting QB's. I also think that depending how the Jaguars finish, they could also be looking. We might also be looking at the Bengals looking for a veteran QB to challenge Andy Dalton. Here are the QB's that are the top 5 free agents and top 5 that could be moved via trade or released:

1. Kirk Cousins(Redskins)-- Kirk Cousins will be widely sought after this off season. The Redskins could possibly franchise tag him one more time this upcoming season. However this could be incredibly expensive. 1 year 34.47 million dollars. That is a huge cap number for a team that will need secondary and wide receiver help next year. Cousins has established himself as a top 10 QB and a fiery leader for the Redskins. His stats for the last 1.5 years are as follows: 67% completion%, 7391 yards, and a 39 TDs and 17INTs. I believe ultimately he will be pursued by the Redskins, Jets, and Cardinals. My prediction: NY Jets, Dark Horse: Minnesota Vikings

2. Sam Bradford(Vikings)-- Sam Bradford is an intriguing option for a lot of different teams. He has the arm talent, solid leadership skills, and excellent accuracy. The biggest problem with Sam Bradford is that he is injury prone. He has only played 16 games twice in his 7 year career. His career stats are 62.5% completion%, 19,049 yards, 101 TDs and 80INTs. I believe that he could be pursued by the Jets, Browns, Colts, Vikings, and Broncos. My prediction: Vikings, Dark Horse: Bengals

3. Teddy Bridgewater (Vikings) -- Teddy Bridgewater was on a path of greatness up until a gruesome injury sidelined him in training camp last year. The fact that he was taken off of IR last week is simply incredible. He is widely respected around the league. The only issue with Bridgewater is his lack of deep passing. He has the arm to make every throw needed. However, he prefers to throw the check down most of the time His career stats are as follows: 64.9% completion%, 6150 yards, 28 TDs and 21 INTs. These stats aren't great. However, I believe he is capable of being a top 6 QB in the league statistically. I believe he will be pursued by the Vikings, Browns, Bills, Jets. My prediction: Vikings, Dark Horse: Cardinals

4. Alex Smith (Chiefs) -- Alex Smith has often been labeled as a game manager. He does things that won't cost you a game, but he also isn't known as a player that can put a team on his back to win a game either. I believe he is having a career year. He also is a very cerebral QB. I do believe that he will actually stay with the Chiefs after this season. He has the respect of the locker room and also that of head coach Andy Reid. His career stats are: 62.3% completion%, 30,290 yards, 175 TDs and 92 INTs. I think he will be pursued by the Bills, Chiefs, Broncos, and Cardinals. My prediction: Chiefs, Dark Horse: Broncos

5. AJ McCarron (Bengals) -- AJ McCarron may not actually be on this list depending on what happens with his injunction request against the Bengals. He has the intrigue of a lot of the league. He has not had much of a chance to play, however when he has he played well. His limited career stats are : 66.4% completion%, 854 yards, 6TDs and 2INTs. He has the arm strength to make every throw and the intelligence to play in any offense. I believe the Bengals, Browns, Colts, and Jets will pursue him. My prediction: Browns, Dark Horse: Bengals

QB's had via trade:

1. Jacoby Brissett (Colts )-- Jacoby Brissett has played extremely well for the Colts this year while Andrew Luck has healed from a surgically repaired shoulder. What he has done with the lack of talent in Indy is incredible not withstanding the win/loss record. He shows great poise in the pocket. I understand why the Patriots held him with such high regard last year. He seems very mature and a great leader. His stats for this year are: 60.9% completion%, 2572 yards, 9TDs and 5INTs. I believe there will be many teams calling to see what it will take to grab him from the Colts. However, there is also a chance they keep him and trade Andrew Luck. I believe a 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick may be enough to get him. I think the teams that will be interested in him are the Cardinals, Jets, Browns, and Colts. My prediction: Colts, Dark Horse: Cardinals

2. Andrew Luck(Colts)-- Andrew Luck hasn't played a snap the entire year and probably won't. Andrew Luck is widely regarded as the next great quarterback in this league. He has led the Colts to multiple playoff appearances, many when they had no business being there. I honestly think that the reason Luck hasn't played this year is because he wants out. The Colts have squandered Luck's prime years. They have let Luck play behind a lackluster offensive line and a bend but often break defense. His career stats are : 59.2% completion%, 19078 yards, 132 TDs and 68INTs. He has an uncanny ability to make the right audible just like his predecessor Peyton Manning. However, if he does request a trade, I wonder if the Colts will out price themselves. I believe that the Cardinals, Broncos, Bengals, Vikings, Browns, and Jets will all be making calls to the Colts about him. My prediction: Colts, Dark Horse: Cardinals

3. Tyrod Taylor(Bills)-- Tyrod Taylor often does not get the respect of being a complete starting quarterback in the NFL. However, the fact that the Bills are in the playoff hunt this deep in the season tells you all you need to know about Mr. Taylor. He has an innate ability to extend plays and the arm strength to make throws all over the field. He has the locker room and the respect of new Bills head coach Sean McDermott. He has also shown the ability to take a team on his back and win the game. His career stats are: 62.7% completion%, 7941 yards, 47 TDs and 17 INTs. I think the Bills will take his team option next year, but they also may take trade calls even if they do the team option. I think the teams that will make the call are the Jets, Broncos, and Browns. I am not sure however what the compensation would be for him. I don't think he would be worth anything more than a high 3rd round pick and a few lower 6th rounders. My prediction: Bills, Dark Horse: Broncos

4. Trevor Siemian(Broncos)-- Trevor Siemian has not been great in his 2 years as starter for the Broncos, but he hasn't been horrible. He has suffered from a bad offensive line, no running game, and wide receivers that drop multiple passes. His career stats are: 60.2% completion%, 5070 yards, 27 TDs and 20 INTs. I am not sure that he is a starter in this league, but I also think he deserves a chance to compete for a job next year. The Broncos seem to be ready to move past him with either Paxton Lynch or someone else. I don't think he will require much to be had. I think a 5th round pick or lower will get this done. My prediction: Bengals, Dark Horse: Jets

5. Tom Savage(Texans)-- Tom Savage really isn't a great option for a team if you need a starter. I do think a little higher of him than a lot of people though. He seems to be a solid number 2 with the possibility of being a so so starter down the road. His stats aren't great. 54.1% completion%, 1090 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs. Not great! However, I think he is young enough to develop and compete. The Texans won't be asking for much in return. My prediction: Texans, Dark Horse: Redskins

This is just my opinion on who will be available to team next year. This all could change barring retirements, injuries, and the Redskins resigning Cousins. The Redskins and Kirk Cousins hold all the cards so to speak when it comes to the QB market this offseason. I will revisit this list as soon as something happens.
